V3: Welcome to the world of Italian quality and design by Colnago
All the advantages of Colnago in a top-level competition bicycle.
Colnago V3 is made for racing as well as the fastest and most demanding training sessions. A road bike with high-quality carbon and well-designed attachments that offer excellent performance at reduced costs make the V3 a perfectly balanced road bike no matter how you look at it. Get the most out of your investment, this bike gives you the maximum.
The Colnago V3 road bicycle has a monocoque carbon frame weighing 790 grams. It also offers careful cable integration for improved aesthetics and aerodynamics. Lighter and stiffer than its predecessor, the new Colnago V3 is truly destined to take you to the top step of the racing podium. Its ability to absorb vertical impacts has been enhanced, ensuring greater comfort during long rides.
Design. The V3 design has been updated to align with some of the standards that have emerged in recent years, including the ability to mount larger road tires, up to 28 inches. Its extremely sleek profile highlights its aerodynamic qualities as well as its unprecedented lightness.
Carbon. To improve lightness, Colnago employs a new type of carbon fiber that significantly increases lateral stiffness. In fact, the new V3Rs is 12% more rigid at the rear and 6% more rigid at the front than the V2-r. Comfort has been enhanced by improving the bike’s ability to absorb vertical impacts.
Fork. The V3 fork has been redesigned and is much lighter than previous models. Its gross weight (uncut) is 390 grams, including the TFS screw. In a size 50, it weighs only 340 grams. The new shape with concave stays at the top improves wheel clearance, allowing the use of wide tires (28c) for increased comfort and lateral stiffness.
Seatpost clamp. Much effort has been concentrated on the seatpost clamp, both to reduce the total weight of the clamping system and to increase its functionality, power, and safety. As a result, the new clamping system is smaller than those of other models by the brand, it is better integrated into the frame, and allows for greater modularity in tightening.
Geometry. To improve handling of this road bike, the geometry has been completely redesigned. In summary, its main features include a shorter head tube, a longer fork, and better balance in dimensions across different sizes. The bottom bracket height from the ground has also been lowered to enhance the bike’s maneuverability with larger tires.
Handlebar area. While the version with traditional brakes is equipped with external cable routing for the brakes, the disc version can have the exclusive TFS system for the fork. The cable routing is entirely within the Colnago SR9 stem and then through the fork stem. This gives the frame a cleaner appearance and also provides technical aerodynamic benefits.
